Three Students feared drown in Siang
PASIGHAT, Jul 26: Three class IX students of JNV, Geku in Upper Siang are reported to have drowned while bathing in Siang on Wednesday afternoon.
A group of seven students had gone for a swim around 2.30 and three of them were swept away by the river.
Remaining four students are reported to be safe.
NDRF team has been pressed into action to trace the missing boys.
The Upper Siang District Administration has alerted villagers residing along the Siang bank to help in the search operation.
Deputy Commissioners of Siang and East Siang have also alerted the GBs of the nearby villages along the Siang for search and rescue operation. DIPRO
Nurses stage dharna demanding legal action against fake nurses

ITANAGAR, Jul 26: The Trained Nurses Association of India, Arunachal Branch on Wednesday staged peaceful protest at Indira Gandhi Park here demanding legal action against 11 fake nurses who were terminated.
The association has been demanding legal action against the terminated nurses for allegedly producing fake certificates and also demanded legal action be initiated against the institutes that promote fake ANM and GNM degrees.
The National Health Mission (NHM) had terminated the nurses from their services on grounds of forgery of documents in April 2017.
"Government is too slow in initiating legal action against those fake nurses," said Tage Ampi, Treasurer TNAI, Arunachal Branch adding that mere termination will not do justice as it is a criminal case.
"First report of posting of fake nurses at various Primary Health Centers and Community Health Centers surfaced in 2016 but the authority took so long to take action against those fake nurses," she added.
The Arunachal Pradesh Nursing Council (APNC) had informed the government about the nurses with fake certificates after scrutiny but the government has taken a long time to take action, she informed.
The termination order was issued after pursuance from TNAI, AP branch.
It is reported that APNC had registered FIR against fake nurses but it was withdrawn later.
TNAI, AP Branch, General Secretary Techi Mepung demanded that strong action should be initiated against all fake nurses including the institutes from where they acquired certificates by fraudulent means.
"How come the authority let fake nurses play with human lives", she asked.
TNAI further demanded all fake nurses should be blacklisted from Indian Nursing Council. It also wanted to know the reasons for withdrawal of FIR against fake nurses by APNC.
The trained nurses association further demanded magisterial inquiry so that those supplying fake certificates could be implicated.
It also urged the authority to take action against those people who are threatening APNC members.
In solidarity, nurses across the state wore black badges in solidarity with the protesting nurses.
Child molestation accused chooses hospital bed to avoid arrest

ITANAGAR, Jul 26: Alleged of molesting a minor girl, Joint Commissioner of Tax and Excise Department, Tani Jongkey reportedly opted for a hospital bed to avoid arrest.
Police has been looking for the absconding officer after a case was registered at the Women Police Station, Itanagar under various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
According to police, Jongkey has been absconding ever since FIR against him was registered on 5th July 2017.
SP Capital Complex Dr. A Koan informed that Jongkey walked into Tomo Riba State Hospital Naharlagun and got himself admitted to avoid arrest.
The city police had deployed its personnel to keep an eye on Jongkey's movement.
"We are pleading the court to constitute a medical board to verify his health condition" informed SP Koan.
In a complaint letter lodged with the Women Police Station of Itanagar on 5th July, the victim's mother had alleged that when her daughter went for tutorial on 2nd June, 2017 with her friends, Jongkey groped her and sexually assaulted her while dropping her home. However, Jongkey denies the charges against him, claiming his innocence.

A team of APWWS on Wednesday met Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan and expressed serious concern over unchecked selling of alcoholic beverage to minors.
There should be strict monitoring in all retail liquor outlets, bars and restaurants to ensure that sales of alcohol or alcoholic beverage to minors do not occur, APWWS said.
Despite the legal drinking age being 21 years, many liquor shops are found selling alcohol to minors disregarding the law, APWWS observed.
It was informed by the Deputy Commissioner that adequate measures have already been taken by the District Administration to check the menace. Some of them are mandatory display of Dos and Don'ts for alcohol retailers, regulation of shopping hours.
APWWS also urged the Deputy Commissioner for proper verification and monitoring of private schools and beauty parlours.
Underscoring the importance of marriage registration for the women, the APWWS requested the Deputy Commissioner to conduct mass marriages registration programme which would not only help check bigamy or polygamy but also enable married women and widows to claim their rights.

ASM draws govt's attention towards poor road connectivity
ITANAGAR, Jul 26: Magne Dogha Panchayat ASM, Lindum Yaku has in a release on Wednesday, drawn the attention of the state government towards the poor road condition in remote areas in Kra Daadi district and appealed for early repair and maintenance of road to ensure that the district remains connected to other districts of the state all the year round.
The ASM had further informed that the life of one Lindum Taha, a resident of Homi village under Kra Daadi district, who had been bitten by a snake on July 13 last, could not be saved because his family was unable to transport him to a hospital owing to road blockade and poor road connectivity.
She appealed to the local MLA to ensure that the road connectivity in the district is improved at the earliest so that such unfortunate incidents do not recur.

The Academic Council of RGU decided to introduce entrance system in all the departments during its 15th meeting held on 14 September, 2015 in the line of Central Universities Common Entrance Test structure.
The university, this year has introduced admissions through entrance mode excluding few programmes such as B.Ed., BCA, few Diploma and certificate courses.
The RGU's Joint Registrar (Academic & Conference) Dr. David Pertin who is also convenor of RGUCET Coordination committee expressed satisfaction with the arrangements after visiting the exam centres.
The entrance exam which started today will end on 2nd August covering 28 programmes, while entrance date for M.Ed. shall be notified after 5th August, informed Dr Pertin.
Approximately 9400 odd applicants applied through offline and online modes for 1317 seats in various PG, UG, professional, PG Diploma, Diploma and certificate programmes being offered by 26 departments, of which 1881 candidates applied through online mode from across the country. "The entrance mode is expected to select the best candidates", Dr Pertin said.
Tension in Dem village after youth murdered

DEM, Jul 26: Tension was prevailing in Dem village near Deed under Yachuli Assembly Constituency of Lower Subansiri following a murder of a youth on July 16.
One Licha Tosu (23) succumbed to his injuries following a brutal attack by one Neelam Take, aged around 60 years. Tosu died on the same day.
The alleged murderer was arrested on the same day and a case has been registered against him under section 302 IPC at Ziro Police Station, said Lower Subansiri Superintendent of Police (SP) Bomge Kamduk.
As the tension was still growing high, a team of All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) visited the village on Tuesday to take stock of the situation.
The team met the victim's family and urged them for calm.
This is a heinous crime and the accused deserve stringent punishment for his barbaric act, said union President Toko Takam.
General Secretary Tukbom Ligu termed the incident very unfortunate.
"There is law and let it take its own course," he said, while expressing solidarity with the victim's family.
He further appealed to the church leaders and village elders to help the victim's family overcome the tragedy.

Transfer teachers
Dear Editor,
We had lots of expectation in recent rationalization and transfer and posting of teacher on the basis of length of service of teacher in school.
We thought that old teachers will be transferred out and new teachers will be posted in the schools. Because, when Government employees stay in particular area for many years, they become lazy and become arrogant.
In Lower Subansiri district, particularly in Ziro-
Here, we would like to inform the concerned authority of that many teachers, both SSA and regular teacher were trying to change their schools for the last many years on health and other grounds. But still their requests have not been responded.
Therefore, we appeal to the Deputy Commissioner and DDSE of Lower Subansiri to once again go through the profile of all teachers and make sure that those teachers who are in particular school since their first posting are transferred out to other schools. Because, we the parents come to now from our children that those longest serving teachers are very irregular in their duty and when we complain, they sing song of their seniority in the school and they even disobey their Principal/Headmaster.
We hope that concern authority will transfer out those longest serving teachers

Dear Editor,
This year government talked much about rationalization of teachers by transferring them on the basis of length of service in particular school. But after seeing the first and second phase of transfer of teachers, we have come to conclusion that political influence has played its game whereas government had been claiming that no politics will be entertain in transfer of teachers. Because many teachers both Regular and SSA teachers ( who are not at the verge of retirement) have not been transferred out who are in the particular school since their first posting . Example may seen in the schools of Lower Subasniri, East Siang , West Siang.
Everybody know that when any government employees stay in particular posting place for many years, they start neglecting their duty and become arrogant. Negligence and arrogance in teachers is not good for the future of students.
We common public has lots of expectation that this time government is very serious to improve education scenario of government schools by transferring out old teachers and transferring in new teachers thereby pumping in new energy in the school.

I would like to request the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission to declare the tentative dates for the APPSCCE and Assistant Engineer Exam.
Being unemployed, lots of students like me are appearing for any and every exam that we think we have a chance of cracking. Since APPSCCE and AE exams are tough and very competitive, it would be very helpful to us if the Commission could declare their tentative dates.
